The ministry of music in our parish encourages those who are gifted instrumentalists and singers to contribute their talent within our liturgical settings. Traditionally music and song are among the strongest elements in Catholic worship. We have an exceptionally good choir at the 10:00 a.m. Mass and the Life Teen® Noon Mass is very lively and contemporary.
Eucharistic Adoration

Environment & Art Committee

This committee is responsible for decorating the church/worship space. People with creative and artistic abilities are needed, along with people who have the time to set up and take down the seasonal decorations.
Eucharistic Ministers

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist have the privilege of assisting the presider in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass. Some of these ministers bring Holy Communion to the homebound. Training and practice are provided.
Greeter/Usher

Ushers assist in seating members of the assembly as they enter church for liturgies. The ushers also ask a family or individuals to bring up the gifts of bread and wine, pass the baskets for collection and distribute bulletins after Mass. They also coordinate the flow for Holy Communion.
Lectors

This is a ministry of public proclamation of the Word of God. In addition, these ministers lead the Prayers of the Faithful, read letters from the Archbishop and make announcements. Training and practice are provided. Workbooks are available to help lectors.
Liturgy Committee

Meeting: First Monday of the Month 7:00 p.m.
This committee is responsible for planning the liturgical seasons of the year, the weekly liturgical celebrations and para-liturgical services throughout the year. This committee also recruits and trains the various ministers for these celebrations and assists the music director in planning the liturgical music. Interested persons are encouraged to make a two to three year commitment.
Mass Coordinator/Sacristan

The responsibilities of the Mass Coordinators include preparing the altar, sacristy and the church prior to the liturgy; facilitate and guide the other ministers in the performance of their ministries; and to assist the other ministers to return everything to its rightful place after the liturgy.
Servers

Through this ministry any boy or girl of the parish (beginning in 5th grade) may assist the priest and other liturgical ministers with the preparations and celebration of Mass and other services.

This committee strives to develop and implement adult religious education programs in our parish. Programs in scripture, Christian spirituality, the beliefs, morals, teachings of our Church, and the development of a life of faith are of primary concern.
Baptismal Preparation

This program strives to insure that parents are aware of the meaning of baptism in Christian life. Through a process of discussion and instruction, parents are able to understand better the sacrament and to experience a sense of belonging to our parish family.

CHRIST RENEWS HIS PARISH (CRHP)
Christ Renews His Parish is an ongoing process to bring members of a parish together in Christ. All of our commitments, including our commitment to Christ, need continued renewal if we are to be faithful. Christ Renews His Parish is an effective spiritual renewal process which calls together members of the parish in order to experience personal conversion and Christian community in the environment of our own parish.

Life Teen®

Life Teen® is our youth ministry program geared toward our high school teens. The teens participate in Noon Mass on Sunday Volunteers (college age students in particular) are needed for the Core Team. Volunteers (adults/parents of teens) are also needed for Life Support which assists our youth minister in implementing Life Teen®.

Marriage Preparation

This parish Couple to Couple program trains and uses couples who are parishioners in the ministry of marriage preparation. Each married couple meets with two to three engaged couples each year, covering over four sessions various aspects of Christian marriage and family life. Training and support for this ministry is provided within the parish on a regular basis.

Parent Teacher Organization (P.T.O.)

Meeting: Twice a year in the Fall and Spring. This organization strives to promote unity between home and school as well as to support the principal, teachers, and parents in their efforts to provide quality education and formation in our Catholic Faith at St. Cletus School. Throughout the year, the P.T.O. sponsors numerous fundraisers. These include pizza sales, Share the Profit certificates sales, the New Year’s Eve Party, fish fries during the Fridays of Lent, etc.
Parish School of Religion (PSR)

Meeting: Monday evenings for elementary. Our Parish School of Religion offers parishioners the opportunity to serve as Catechists for 1st through 8th year in grade school. Substitutes and aides are also needed at times. Previous experience is valued but not required. Training, certification and on-going support are provided.
Prayer Group/Faith Sharing

At various times throughout the week, parishioners gather for prayer and sharing their faith. Some of the prayer groups are Life in the Light, Moms in Touch, Our Lady’s Prayer Group, Recitation of the Rosary on Saturday morning, etc.
Retreat

Throughout the year, retreats are scheduled for the men and women of our parish at the White House Retreat Center in South County. The Jesuit priests and brothers staff this facility and present the retreats.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

Meeting: Every Thursday at 7 PM
The Catechumenate Program is designed to initiate and welcome new adult members into the Catholic Church and our parish community. Our emphasis is on prayer, scriptures, study and sharing the experience of our faith. Adult initiation in the Catholic Church normally takes place each year during the Easter Vigil. Members of the parish are invited to participate as catechists and sponsors, or to assist with hospitality.
Small Church Communities

Following the Parish Mission in Advent, the Parish Council hopes to implement small church communities throughout the parish. These small church communities will consist of 8-10 people who will reflect on the readings for Sunday Mass. This is an attempt by our Church to allow Catholics to experience a sense of community within their larger parish community. More information will be forthcoming.

Communion for Homebound

The priests and Eucharistic ministers of the parish regularly visit our sick and homebound members. Such visits aid the healing process, help those in need to experience the loving care of our parish, and provide an opportunity for the sacraments to be received. Please call the parish office when you enter the hospital or would like such a visit at home.
Funeral Luncheons

This parish service provides a funeral luncheon for friends and families of deceased parish members. The luncheon is served in the Parish Center which can accommodate up to 150 people. Volunteers are needed to donate food and/or work the luncheons.
Giving Tree/Adopt a Family

This Advent program encourages and provides parishioners with an opportunity to prepare for Christmas by remembering persons and families less fortunate than they, and by purchasing gift items for them. Volunteers are needed to help organize this program and to distribute to those in need.

Men’s Club/Athletic Programs

Meeting: Second Tuesday of the Month in the Cafeteria 7:30 PM
This organization is open to all men of the parish. The Men’s Club sponsors the Parish Athletic Program which includes boys and girls soccer, T-ball, basketball & volleyball. They provide a free family breakfast in the Spring and Winter. In addition, the club provides funding for school equipment and scholarships to Duchesne High School.
Nursing Home Visitation

Meeting: Every Thursday at 10:15 AM at Blanchette Nursing Home every Thursday, two to three parishioners prepare one of the dining rooms for Mass. These volunteers, along with junior high students from St. Cletus School, assist the resident’s back to their rooms after Mass.
Peace and Justice

The responsibility of this committee is to educate the parish concerning justice issues in our community and in society at large. Members of this committee attempt to address injustices in concrete ways.
ProLife Committee

This committee coordinates within our parish the respect life programs and activities of our Archdiocese. If you’re concerned about strengthening the value of human life within our society for the sake of children, including the unborn, the elderly, the disabled, and al lpersons, you may want to consider joining this committee.
Quilters

This parish activity is truly Americana! The quilts produced by these dedicated women are unique and beautiful. Some people claim this is a dying art. Let’s hope not! Quilting is also a good social opportunity for members of the parish. Quilts are made for the annual Quilt Social and Church Picnic.

St. Cletus School Volunteer

Many of our parishioners, especially our parents and retired parishioners, donate their time and talents to the school. Volunteers are needed to supervise the playground, to serve in the cafeteria, to assist our teachers in the classrooms and with individual students, etc. Many opportunities exist to volunteer your time in our parish school.
Senior Cletes

Meeting: Third Tuesday of the Month at Noon
This organization welcomes all of our retired parishioners. The meeting begins with a delicious lunch and continues with a guest speaker or some form of entertainment. Day trips in Missouri or Illinois are planned throughout the year. In the fall, they sponsor a garage sale for the St. Vincent De Paul Society. They also prepare and serve Funeral Luncheons.
Seperated, Divorced, and Widowed/C.A.R.L.

St. Dorothy Society/Grounds Beautification

The primary purpose of the St. Dorothy Society is to beautify the grounds of St. Cletus by planting and maintaining the trees, shrubbery and flowers. Cutting the grass and trimming the trees and shrubs are also part of the society’s responsibilities.
St. Vincent de Paul Society

This organization assists the poor in our community. Members care for individuals and families needing emergency assistance with food, shelter, utilities, clothing, or help with other basic needs.
Vacation Bible School

For two weeks during June, our children are encouraged to attend our Summer Praise program. In a fun filled environ-ment, our children learn more about Jesus, the Church, the Scriptures and prayer. Our children (ages 5 through 5th grade) also spend time on arts, crafts and music. Because of continued
growth, volunteers are needed as teachers and helpers with art, music, snacks, and recess. Junior and Senior High students are welcome to volunteer.

Meeting Periodically, throughout the year the members of this committee inspect and make recommendations concerning the physical plant of St. Cletus.
Finance Council

Meeting: Third Monday of every other month beginning in January 7:00 PM
This council advises the pastor concerning the administration of parish finances, the management of funds for the operations of our parish, and the repayment of our debt to the Archdiocese. Parishioners with personal interest and/or skills in accounting, financial management, and banking are welcome to submit their names for membership. A commitment of three years on this council is requested.
Office Assistant & Computer Assistance

Periodically, the parish office needs assistance to answer the phone, for large mailings and for data entry. Depending on the size of the project, the time commitment consists of a couple of hours to a couple of days.
Parish Council

The fundamental responsibility of the parish Council is to establish and nurture a vision for St. Cletus Parish. This vision represents the desire and commitment of the Council to work for the transformation of people, to identify and respond to the needs of people through effective ministries, and to intentionally plan for the future. Parish Council members are selected every three years and serve together as a group for a three-year term of office.
Parish Picnic

Our annual Church Picnic is held in late May or early June. It is a major fund-raising event for operational/capital improvements at our parish. The picnic is one of our best community building activities of the year. Volunteers are needed for the organization of the picnic which usually begins in January. During the one day picnic, there are many ways for you to participate, even if you just have a few hours to contribute.
School Board

Members of the Board advise the pastor in establishing the policies governing the education of children at St. Cletus School. Members are elected to a three-year term.
Money Counters

Meeting: Several teams meet on Monday to count the Sunday collection.
Skills
At times throughout the year persons possessing various skills may be needed to assist the Parish Staff, or particular Committee, Organization, or Activity of the Parish. An on-going commitment would not be expected. Most often it is Specialized assistance with a short-term project that is needed. Such a gift of your time and talent is a great support for the administration of our parish as well as for the care of our members.
